Gol-Abbasi are floral motifs that have been very common in Persian carpets since the 17th century. In 1603 the king of Persia gave “Shah Abbas I.” the Venetian doge Marino Grimani a carpet with woven gold and silver threads. Since then, princes in Europe have traded Persian carpets and traded them on behalf. For this reason, Shah Abbasi motifs have always been very popular and in demand in Europe.
